Porthcurno - SW Coast Path to Minack

The Mysterious Disappearance of Jago Dyer's Loot

The infamous South West smuggler, Jago Dyer, often used Porthcurno as a base for his dastardly dealings all along the rugged coastline between Penzance and Land's End. Legend has it that on one particularly dark night, after downing 13 bottles of Diet Dr Grog MAX, he stumbled on the rough coast path and dropped his loot, sending it cascading down the rocky cliffs into the crashing waves below. Tales of the treasure being washed ashore and buried by his ancestors are rife - but are they true?

Treasure Hunt Through Porthcurno

Join the Exploration Society on an exciting self-guided treasure hunt through Porthcurno, following the trail of clues left behind by Jago Dyer himself. As you journey along the South West Coast Path to the tiny fishing cove of Porthgwarra, you'll solve sneaky clues set on existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments to discover the location of the buried treasure.

Start your adventure at the car park close to the Telegraph Museum and follow the scenic route to the Coast Watch Station, before finishing back at the Minack Theatre close to the start point. But beware, Jago Dyer was a master of deception and only the most daring treasure seekers will be able to unearth his jewels.
